Session Type: Symposium
Racism is a complex structure, not an individual event. To fight racism on college campuses, we need to first deconstruct racism by understanding the different aspects of campus racial climate. The National Assessment of Collegiate Campus Climate (NACCC), a survey of campus racial climate, was developed to help leaders in higher education better understand and more strategically address campus racial problems. In 2020, the USC Race and Equity Center launched two Equity Leadership Alliances where we united 65 community colleges and 68 liberal arts colleges to participate in the NACCC and in a team effort to promote racial equity. In this symposium, the presenters will discuss the NACCC annual results and how to unite colleges and universities against racism on campus.
