Session Type: Symposium
This symposium is based on related international research projects that explore the role of community as a space of knowledge production, as well as how the arts help produce such a space as an integral part of community arts education and programming (CAEP). Collectively, the papers provide insights into the potential of CAEP to create and facilitate innovative models and curricula for both individual growth and community action. Dialogue generated from in this symposium will assist in developing a clear research/action framework for the understanding of arts-informed knowledge in urban renewal and community integration, and its potential implications in fostering meaningful learning experiences.
