This session brings together leading scholars from around the world to provide their most influential thinking on classroom assessment, feedback, through the lens of teacher professional development. The participants will discuss scalable approaches to improving classroom feedback, describe the importance of looking at student work to make instructional decisions, explicate the importance of harnessing student self-feedback generation, and offer a nuanced discussion of grades as feedback. All presentations will include an overview of research studies, followed by specific and clear recommendations for teacher professional development. The audience will be introduced to the most current recommendations supported by extensive empirical studies.
