Session Type: Working Group Roundtable
This working group roundtable brings together examples of international LS implementation and research, illustrates challenges of cross-cultural implementation, and examines sustainability in non-Japanese contexts. Three presenters will showcase their work and frame their dilemma’s, concerns, and problems when ‘translating’ Japanese LS into a different culture and education system. Is it lost in translation or do new, innovative and exciting approaches stem out of the adoption and adaptation process? The chair of this working group roundtable is a seasoned LS-researcher and practitioner and has worked in Japan and in the United States on Japanese LS and adaptation of LS cross culturally and will entice the presenters and the audience to a synergistic discussion.
