Higher education in the United States, as a system developed during the colonial period of this country, is deeply tied to White, Eurocentric, colonial ideas that reify White supremacy and structural racism. As scholar practitioners, each of us conducted primary research on racial justice. This session will both theoretical and empirical data to examine beliefs, norms, policies, and structures that have resulted in imbalances of power of and privilege. Additionally, the authors present multiple leadership strategies to disrupt institutionalized oppression and create new ways of leading for racial justice.
