Session Type: Symposium
This session focuses on the education and career pathways of Asian/Asian American Ph.D. holders, based on studies on “vertical mobility” that embraces education and career step-ups, and “horizontal mobility” that forms geographic mobility often beyond national borders. Altogether, the presentations enable a comprehensive discussion of the recent trends and issues over the education and career pathway of Asian/Asian American Ph.D. holders. Mobility and lifelong learning are inseparable in the current economy. Workers are expected to be flexible in moving between organizations, between occupations, and between geographic locations.
