Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
In 2021, we continue to experience what Ladson-Billings refers to as the four pandemics—the COVID-19 pandemic, the pandemic of systemic racism, the economic crisis, and the climate crisis. 2021 also marked the 25th anniversary of AERA’s Division L, Educational Policy and Politics. In this fireside chat, we will engage with prominent education scholars and professionals to reflect on the field of education policy over the last 25 years and will use this historical lens to discuss priorities for education policy in 2021. This professional development session will support graduate students and scholars interested in engaging with a variety of perspectives on the evolution of the education policy field and the most pressing policy and research questions moving forward.
