Abstract

#SocialJusticeCounterstorytelling: Celebrating the Lived Experiences of #CRTEducationalSuperHeroes features three groups of researchers/activists. The first University of New Mexico duo is Dr. Shiv Desai, an Associate Professor in the Department of Teacher Education, Educational Leadership and Policy and Dr. Nancy López, a professor in Sociology and the director/co-founder of the Institute for Study of "Race" & Social Justice. The second group is two “sister” researchers. Dr. Rijasoa Andriamanana, the former Minister of Education for Madagascar and Liah Rosdiani Nasution, MA, an Islamic Studies/Ed Psych lecturer in Padangsidimpuan, Indonesia. The last group of #Superheroes is Peter Mwangi, Minea Armijo, Gulnara Kussainova, and Jenny Zhen Yu, all former officers from the UNM COE GSLA who have been powerhouses of student activism.
