Abstract

The division F fireside chat invites participants to learn about public scholarship through newspaper editorial writing. Dr. Diana D’Amico Pawlewicz, historian of education and social policy and an associate editor of Made by History in the Washington Post, will lead an interactive workshop on the craft and importance of this form of writing that will get participants started on the process of writing their own editorials. This workshop is designed for anyone interested in building a new audience for their work, developing their writing skills, or considering the connection between historical scholarship and current events.
