Surviving White Emotionalities!

Wed, April 20, 1:00 to 4:00pm PDT (1:00 to 4:00pm PDT), San Diego Convention Center, Floor: Upper Level, Room 2

Session Type: Pre-Conference Mentoring Session

Abstract

This interactive session is designed for graduate students and early career faculty who want to dig deep into what are white emotionalities and how they impact us both professionally and personally. Additionally, the seminar will provide a space to dialogue about issues of microaggressions, weaponized emotionalities, and institutional racism, especially those that are specific to women of color. Attendees come away learning the tactics and maneuvers while also gathering tools and skills on how to navigate them throughout coursework, dissertating, publishing, teaching, and coexisting within PWIs.
