Education systems around the world have been impacted by extended school closures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and schools that have reopened are encountering extreme limitations to normal school operations due to the continued disruption. While many other efforts exist that provide information on the impact of the pandemic on school systems and how they responded, they have been mostly derived from non-representative rapid surveys, lacking internationally comparable information. The Responses to Educational Disruption Survey (REDS) was launched to fill this gap.
