Imagining and Enacting a Curriculum of Transformation Within Teacher Education

Abstract

The pandemic and recent outcries for social justice have impacted the educational landscape. As we move forward, so must our practice. We are called to reimagine our work in ways that are relevant to the lived experiences of teachers, students, and their communities. To this end, students in their final year of teacher preparation created a variety of arts-based products designed to validate, nurture, and give voice to the humanity of their work as educators. The artifacts confirm that soon-to-be-licensed individuals are working for more than a license; but for a better, more equitable future. We are reminded that student teachers have much to teach us.
