Growth mindset is an influential concept in the fields of psychology and education. However, the evidence on the psychometric quality of the scales assessing mindset is scarce. This study presents a meta-analysis of the psychometric properties of Dweck’s popular Mindset Scale. We synthesized information from 33 primary studies that reported the item-to-item correlations of Dweck’s Mindset Scale (DMS). To investigate the reliability and factor structure of the scale, we used random-effects meta-analysis and meta-analytic structural modeling. The scale exhibited high reliability (\omega_T=.89), and a two-factor model represented the data better than a single-factor model. The evidence supports the application of the scale to different contexts and conditions and the distinction between growth and fixed mindsets with the DMS.
