Our current study aims to analyze the discourse that institutional statements utilize when addressing nation-wide racialized tragedies and turmoil using Critical Discourse Analysis and Intersectional Analysis. We expound on this research by acknowledging community responses to institutional statements concerning occurrences outside of university borders illuminating the impact that universities have within their campus community and beyond.
