Thu, April 21, 4:15 to 5:45pm PDT (4:15 to 5:45pm PDT), San Diego Convention Center, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

Drawing from 10 interviews and 23 hours of observations, this study examines the contributions, burdens, and benefits of Black enrollment management professionals engaged in yield-recruitment efforts at a selective public flagship campus affected by an affirmative action ban. Findings highlight racialized labor and tensions navigating competing demands at the intersection of their racial identity and professional obligations.
