Abstract

We present results of a Multi-Group Confirmatory Factor Analysis to assess the measurement invariance of an adapted Professional Learning Community (PLC) scale. Evidence of measurement invariance in PLC scales is limited, despite its methodological importance. Measurement invariance is a pre-condition to develop fair measures because it identifies differences in how a given construct is understood across characteristics such as languages and ethnicity. In this paper, we adapt a PLC scale based in Sleegers, et al. (2013)’s model, where the authors conceive PLCs as multilevel and multidimensional. Second, we extend the adapted model to an international setting and evaluates whether the scale is measurement invariant by using the 2015 teacher data from the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).
