Abstract

Currently, it is anticipated that science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics education stimulates students’ creativity as well as scientific thinking through multisensory artistic or hands-on activities and can foster personnel problem-solving in terms of sustainability-related issues. Many universities prompt toward cross-disciplinary learning. Today, one facet being considered about cross-disciplinary learning is object-based learning, which has been nurtured in museum settings and acknowledged as museum pedagogy. This study examined the pedagogical efficacy of object-based learning with antique Japanese artworks as a cross-disciplinary learning method. Further, it described that object-based learning with antique artworks functions as effective cross-disciplinary learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics education while combining the advantages of on-site with online education toward a sustainable future.
