"Hey Dude": How First-Year Women Engineering Students Experience Gendered Faculty Interactions

Abstract

This qualitative study used a gender lens to understand how women engineering students experience, understand, and uptake gendered interactions with faculty during their first year of college. Preliminary findings reveal that women experience gendered interactions in the classroom that other them and are often uncomfortable forming relationships with men faculty.
