Abstract

As Critical Race Feminista (CRF) scholars, we are called to live what we preach, defining our work within the parameters of ethicality. We also recognize that this is easier said than done, given the pressure to perform within the colonial logics of academia that frame what is required for promotion, publication, and prestige. Yet, a major goal of our work is to move forward a social justice agenda that holds us accountable to our communities. The purpose of this conceptual paper is to explore this question once posed by Derrick Bell and to consider the ways that we, as Women of Color in the academy, engage our ethical ambitions within the coloniality of academia.
