Abstract

Antonio Duran (he/him/él), Ph.D., is an assistant professor of higher education at Florida International University. Antonio will speak to how he came to Queer of Color Critique through his desire to see himself represented in texts during graduate school. He will also discuss the tensions he has encountered using QOCC including attempting to honor the interdisciplinary origins of QOCC and thinking through what QOCC means for relationships with participants/communities. Finally, Antonio will speak to the work that he is doing to provide more guidance on what using QOCC in one's study designs looks like, as well as what it means to use the framework to guide one's praxis as higher education educators.
