Abstract

The purpose of this invited session is twofold. First, the presenters of this session will share findings from a recent qualitative study exploring the experiences of recent doctorates’ turning their mixed methods dissertation into a peer-reviewed publication. Second, attendees of the session will be invited to engage in a collaborative, participatory session to share ideas, experiences, challenges, and questions on turning a mixed methods dissertation into a peer-reviewed publication. Using the group level assessment technique, attendees will brainstorm about this topic by generating responses, discussing collective responses, reflecting on the generated data, identifying common themes, refining themes, and discussing future directions related to the Mixed Methods Research SIG and its mission. We invite anyone interested in mixed methods research, including students at varying stages in their academic careers as well as mentors and advisors to share their wisdom on this process and to join us for this invited session.
