Session Type: Symposium
This symposium explores emerging research directions toward converging Virtual Reality and learning analytics to promote higher-order learning outcomes from a perspective of constructivist learning theories. Implementing constructivist learning methods has often been challenged due to limited resources to provide authentic experiences and individualized just-in-time feedback to promote reflection and learning. Virtual Reality and learning analytics have been considered promising technologies to overcome these constructivists’ challenges. While the two areas have developed independently, there is a growing need to converse these technologies to make constructivist practices feasible. Importantly, conducting impactful research on learning with covering technologies is often beyond a single researcher’s capacity. Participants will discuss the possibilities of open-research platforms to promote coherent and sustainable research collaborations.
