Session Type: Symposium
Strong leadership is critical for creating supportive learning conditions for students and productive working conditions for teachers. Leadership induction programs offer a key mechanism for supporting early career leaders. These programs allow for in-service preparation and support for early career leaders and often include a combination of professional learning programming and coaching. In recent years, states like California and Delaware have implemented policies and initiatives to increase access to and quality of leadership induction in their states. The objective of this symposium is to share the current state of policies that support leadership induction in the United States and elevate new research on the policy and programmatic decisions in place that can support leadership readiness.
