Profiling Online Instructors' Implementation Patterns of Student Learning Activities

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to group online instructors based on their choice and frequency of implementation of different student learning activities in online courses. Data were collected from over 150 faculty at a university in the western United States. Latent class analysis method was used to identify instructor groups. Additionally, a comparative analysis was conducted to examine how the groups differ regarding instructors’ demographics, beliefs, and satisfaction.
