Higher education plays a critical role in helping students develop their capacity for making meaning of themselves and their worlds (Kegan, 1982; Baxter Magolda, 2009). Yet measuring such development is challenging. In this study, we present a final version of the University X-Living a Life of Meaning and Purpose, version C (UX-LAMP-C), a self-report instrument that captures changes in meaning-making capacity based on Kegan’s constructive-developmental framework. We will report on the latest stages of revision and piloting, and present data on the instrument’s psychometric quality. The instrument could be used by researchers of college students and young adults more generally.
