Abstract

University-district partnerships utilizing simultaneous renewal are promising models for leadership preparation programs. However, many partnerships lack the mutual commitment to remain relevant and responsive to emerging challenges. This two-year participatory qualitative research study aimed to examine how a University-District Leadership Preparation Partnership impacts all stakeholders. Analysis of semi-structured interviews indicated how reflective practices and the components of the program informed and transformed all stakeholders while renewing the preparation program. This study contributes to the literature on the characteristics of a strong university-district partnership and promising leadership preparation models, and it informs the practice of faculty in leadership preparation programs and district administrators who develop and support school leaders.
