Guided by a narrative approach, this collaborative research project shares the learnings of educational leaders who come alongside children in a unique elementary school community; a place where Indigenous teachings and practices of reconciliation are led by a school-based Knowledge Keeper. Through focus group conversations with 20 children in grades 4 to 6, this research highlights the impact of working as a community to create intentional spaces for Indigenous teachings and learning. By attending to children's voices, experiences, and understandings, we learn of how they envision more inclusive ways of being. For school improvement, this research provides insights into the importance of weaving Indigenous knowledges in meaningful ways and seeking truth alongside children, families, Knowledge Keepers, Elders, teachers, and community.
