Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the structure of a scale intended to measure undergraduate students’ conceptions of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. Inspired by a conceptual model to examine eight applications of AI in education, this research document an iterative process to create and validate the scale for this intended audience. The eight-factors include: AI1. Intelligent Tutoring System, AI2. Students' Grading and Evaluation, AI3. Students' Retention and Dropout, AI4. Sentiment Analysis in Education, AI5. Recommendation Systems, AI6. Classroom Monitoring and Visual Analysis, AI7. Personalized Learning, and AI8. Student's Performance Prediction. A complete discussion, limitations, and implications of this research are provided.
