Abstract

This paper conducted a methodological review on different educational leadership styles in the top journals in the educational administration field, in the pursuit of truth regarding how educational leadership had been evaluated for the past decade. The sample of this study included published peer-reviewed articles that utilized at least one quantitative method to explore a leadership style. This paper was not intended to review the content, but to systematically review the leadership trends and the quantitative methods used to evaluate educational leadership, thus it provided a multi-faceted lens to understand the educational leadership research evolved in terms of methodological patterns over time. The findings suggested that scholarly interest in using quantitative designs had increased over time.
