Abstract

The SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic forced the United States (U.S.) to confront a new reality laden with uncertainty, pessimism, and mortality. In the rush to understand COVID-19s impact on schools and communities, policymakers proposed dehumanizing legislation persecuting LGBTQIA+, Trans, and Queer students, and away from historical school funding disparities (Ambrose, 2020; DeMatthews et al., 2020; Varela, D. G., & Fedynich, 2020). To disrupt this oppressive dialogue this study seeks to comparatively understand the details of the public-school funding climate in those states that have already passed anti- LGBTQIA+, Trans, and Queer legislation; ID, MO, OK, GA, IN, KS, PA, SD, VA, SC, & TN.
