Abstract

Unlike predatory journals that are not indexed in JCR lists, suspicious journals that are indexed as SCI level are becoming a poison apple to academic culture in universities. Especially in Korea, rising accountability of universities from performance-based research funding are forcing their researchers to take part in publishing in suspicious journals. The objective of this research is to examine how the patterns shown in suspicious international journals among researchers in universities differ compared to that in comparable prestigious journals. Also, this research aims to find the factors that affect Korean researchers to publish in suspicious journals.
