Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
Although equity and inclusion (e&i) are widely recognized to be vital philosophies, it is not always clear how to successfully integrate these philosophies into policy, and even then a successful policy may not be based on the most recent research or lend itself to scientific analysis. Policymakers need help translating meaningful, credible, and legitimate scientific research for use in e&i policy and in structuring these policies for continuous improvement. The purpose of this session is to 1) describe the tenets of successful e&i policy implementation and 2) explain methods for crafting policies suited for continuous improvement based on scientific research, especially quantitative interaction effects, qualitative intersectionality, and mixed methods integration.
