Understanding collaboration strategies among university researchers and non-profit or industry organizations is crucial for having sustainable research networks and quality research projects. This paper presents our processes and strategies for how our university-based research team (i.e., professor and graduate students) collaborated with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and other non-higher education-based professionals to conduct longitudinal research on the NSBE Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK) program. We highlight the success of leveraging multistakeholder collaborations to enhance quality points like validity and reliability, general best practices, and areas of opportunities as we progress. Our aim is to document our process as a road map for other university researchers who also wish to collaborate with industry and non-profits.
