Abstract

Gamified-integrated STEM is a technique that combines integrated STEM stages with gamification elements. Sea level rise, one of the consequences of global climate change, is a powerful observable concept for middle school students. The main purpose of this study is to investigate gamified-integrated STEM-based instruction on global climate change causes a significant change in 8th-graders' perceptions of problem-solving skills, critical thinking dispositions, and climate change views. According to the findings of the study, statistically significant differences were found between the students' pre and post-test scores in terms of both problem - solving skills perception and critical thinking dispositions. In addition, students' level of hope regarding global climate change and their willingness to take action increased.
