Abstract

This research reviews 120 studies conducted in the United States and around the globe to understand better the causes of teacher turnover. The analysis aimed to determine quantitatively estimated factors of teacher turnover and retention. The Preferred Reporting Items for the Systematic Review of the Meta-analysis (PRISMA) statement were used to follow literature review guidelines. Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software was utilized to analyze the data. The findings highlighted the personal and spiritual, workplace, and job factors that caused teacher turnover. The study provides insights for policymakers and educational leaders to establish appropriate educational policies, pedagogies, and practices.
