Session Type: Symposium
By examining current practices and knowledge production about inclusive education, the session aims to unveil systemic inequities and propose transformative approaches for educational justice. The five papers utilize diverse theoretical frameworks, including disability studies and critical race theory (DisCrit), cultural-historical activity theory (CHAT), critical discourse analysis, and intersectional sociospatial analysis to critically examine the experiences of marginalized students, including Black boys and girls, students with dis/abilities, and those within the juvenile justice system. This symposium aligns with the AERA 2025 theme of remedy and repair, advocating for paradigm shifts in educational research and practice.
