A Systematic Review of Psychometric Properties of Language Adapted Executive Functioning Measures (Poster 3)

Thu, April 24, 5:25 to 6:55pm MDT (5:25 to 6:55pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Exhibit Hall Level, Exhibit Hall F - Poster Session

Abstract

This research investigates the psychometric properties of executive functioning measures adapted for different languages. Despite numerous scales, no synthesis has been detailing cross-cultural adaptation procedures, concordance with original versions, or gaps in adaptations for different languages and contexts. The current study reviews 20 studies conducted between 2009 and 2022. The study aims to assess the quality of psychometric evidence in adapted measures, examine changes in factor structure between adapted and original versions, and evaluate whether EF is culturally indigenous. Results indicate stable psychometric properties in adapted measures but highlight a significant methodological gap in assessing measurement invariance. Future research should prioritize comprehensive measurement invariance testing for more robust cross-cultural assessments .
