Overweight and obesity are leading health concerns with a global prevalence of 33% and a prevalence in the U.S. of 74%. Early childhood teachers and leaders have a prevalence of overweight and obesity that is even above this national average. For these reasons, understanding what factors, both individual, economic, socio-cultural, and policy-related, are associated with early childhood leader obesity becomes key to any intervention designed to improve these leader health outcomes. Using the Analysis Grid for Environments Linked to Obesity (ANGELO) ecological framework, the goal of this study was to investigate the associations of both individual and environmental factors associated with leader obesity from a sample of 1,214 center director and K-12 elementary/primary leaders across the U.S.
