Abstract

This proposal presents the Mixed-Methods Based Systematic Literature Review (MMB-SLR), a new methodological framework that combines a mixed-methods design with the well-established Systematic Literature Review (SLR) process. This approach allows for a comprehensive analysis of the literature by using both qualitative and quantitative data. We explore various combinations of mixed-methods research designs, such as explanatory sequential, exploratory sequential, and convergent parallel designs, and discuss how they can be integrated with the SLR procedure. By examining different mixed-methods diagrams alongside the SLR process, we highlight the flexibility and strength of this approach. This paper contributes to the growing field of mixed-methods research by providing a solid framework that improves the comprehensiveness of literature reviews across various research areas.
