Abstract

This study will explore personal and professional experiences of retirement financial literacy (RFL) and retirement self-efficacy (RSE) with Black females. Informed by the Sociocultural Learning Theory of Self Efficacy and Planned Behavior, the role of gender, ethnicity, RFL and RSE interventions, and the financial culture will be considered in the development of RFL. A literature review of trends in RFL will be presented. The study will utilize a case study methodology, as well as a criterion-based purposeful snowball sampling plan. Limitations of the study will be discussed. Finally, research directions will be reviewed in relation to the future of RFL.
