Artificial Intelligence (AI) holds significant promise for enhancing personalized learning experiences and educational content. Advanced technologies like generative AI enable dynamic, responsive educational tools that integrate personal interests, potentially boosting academic performance and positive emotions in subjects like statistics. The current study explores the process of using ChatGPT-4 to develop assessment questions using students' personal and academic interests to develop new questions from existing ones to increase student interest in the subject materials. Results indicate that emotional change based on AI-generated assessments were not statistically significantly different, although course quiz scores are based on treatment condition. Supporting personalized course content can increase student achievement. Future work should explore this process on larger samples and across different courses.
