Thu, April 24, 9:50 to 11:20am MDT (9:50 to 11:20am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Four Seasons Ballroom 2-3

Abstract

Of the largest 25 largest metropolitan areas in the country, the majority of students within these open-zone suburban schools were majority non-white (Herold, 2021). However, for suburban schools in white suburban areas with closed zone districts the diversity rates skewed disproportionately white. Within this study, I examine a majority white suburb and the school board to examine how they develop and implement DEI policies that address anti-Blackness while also identifying ways that these majority white boards respond to CRT.
