Session Type: Symposium
It has become increasingly apparent that teacher education is a vessel for change (Darling-Hammond et al., 2020) in which self-study bears a significant role of influence (Taylor & Diamond, 2020). This symposium explores three, Black female teacher educators’ experiences within the context of a predominantly White, undergraduate teacher preparation program in the southeastern United States. This session is centered around personal and professional tensions in the context of supervision: 1) How do we develop your espoused platforms for, in, and of supervision to navigate various clinical spaces? and 2) How have we developed and applied practices to strengthen school-university partnerships in the current sociopolitical climate?
