This qualitative study investigated what criminalized and racially minoritized young boys attending two continuation high schools envisioned for their future selves. Data from two-part semi-structured interviews with 26 Latino boys were examined to highlight students’ hopes and dreams for the future as well as their recommendations for re-engaging “delinquent” youth into schooling. The findings highlight greater ecological forces that are at play within continuation schools that shape and hinder positive developmental opportunities.
