African Americans lived experiences offer insight into a world in which continuous barriers must be overcome. In this study, a variety of different sources indicate how participants' lived experiences shape their future. Findings include educators' impact on their own students, working through various microaggressions, creating their own positive self identity, and the conflicts of their authentic selves.
