Using CEDS to Build Efficient Data Requests

After this workshop, researchers can expect to understand and be able to use various CEDS tools and resources to develop valuable, efficient data requests for SEA and LEA data systems. As evidenced in Use of the Common Education Data Standards, several states are already using CEDS for their own research purposes.
The workshop will educate researchers about a free web-based tool and data standard that will strengthen their communication with state and local education agencies about data. The presenter designed the resources and tools demonstrated during this workshop and now leads the implementation efforts for CEDS. During this presentation, she will provide demonstrations of the CEDS Align, Connect and myConnect tools to help researchers develop data requests for SEAs and LEAs, and provide time for researchers to explore the tools with hands on experience.
