Abstract

This study was designed to provide insight into the lessons learned from an ensuing partnership between the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) and two university based master’s degree rural turnaround preparation programs. The study also attempted to validate a new conceptual model: the Hudson Educational Leadership Preparation Program Partnership Model. Two questions guided the inquiry: How did the partnership facilitate and hinder university programs in their preparation of aspiring turnaround school leaders? To what extent is the framework applicable to future educational leadership program partnership development? Results indicated the model assisted in development and sustainability of school/university partnerships. The model may not apply to partnerships with agencies such as state departments of education and other university preparation programs.
