Engaging Multiplicity to Interrogate Racialized Settler Colonialism

Thu, April 21, 4:15 to 5:45pm PDT (4:15 to 5:45pm PDT), San Diego Convention Center, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

This conceptual paper seeks to explore the absence of settler privilege discussion in racial equity research in the field of higher education. As such, we introduce multiplicity as a framework to examine our identities coming together as situated products practiced through race and settler colonialism. Specifically, we suggest the possibility of multiple selves and how our capacities create valences of power.
