The purpose of this study is to determine if bibliotherapy is an effective self-directed treatment for decreasing stress and enhancing psychological flexibility among aspiring school leaders enrolled in an educational leadership program. The participants are graduate students at a research-intensive university located in the southern U.S. Participants were randomly assigned to a waitlist or receive a copy of The Happiness Trap. The primary outcome measure will be the General Health Questionnaire–12 and the process measurement instrument will be The Acceptance and Action Questionnaire. Results will be generated through Hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) or mixed-model repeated measures (MMRM). Currently, there are no studies that use bibliotherapy within the field of educational leadership.
