Outcomes of the German Funding Program for the Internationalization of Vocational Education and Training Research

Abstract

This study focuses on the presentation of the German funding program for the internationalization of vocational education and training research, its key foci and outcomes. We present the findings of the systematization of the main research foci and overarching program evaluation. Our study is based on a comprehensive monitoring concept, which includes three components for evaluation and provides systematic and detailed insights into the research projects. The evaluation results are placed in the context of the current state of international VET research and critically reflected against this background. By analyzing the specifics and commonalities of the projects on the topic of internationalization of VET research, we identify key desiderata and provide recommendations for further VET research and international education cooperation.
